We act BOLDLY to ensure strong fiscal management and wise use of taxpayer dollars.

Through BOLD action and by continuously seeking the input of our families and local businesses, Wylie ISD has a proven track record of financial transparency, smart budgeting and cost-savings efficiencies. Through conservative forecasting, long-range planning and efficient operations we’ve maintained a strong fund balance, competitive teacher/staff salaries and responsible tax rate.

  • Since TEA began rating the financial management of districts 20 years ago, in the 2002-03 school year, Wylie ISD has achieved an A every year, the highest rating possible.

  • Overall tax rate has decreased nearly 24 cents since 2018-19.

  • Recognized by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts’ Transparency Stars program for going above and beyond in transparency efforts.

  • We’ve increased our Moody’s Rating seven positions since 2011. Wylie ISD is an Aa2/AA rated district. This rating demonstrates the confidence the rating agency has in Wylie ISD’s ability to manage its finance. Such a rating also allows taxpayer dollars to go further as the district can borrow funds at lower interest rates.

  • Since July 1, 2020, through intentional planning, Wylie ISD has saved $75,169,304 (net of district contributions) in future interest payments with a combination of bond refunding and cash defeasances.
